Are we open and sewing?

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the recent outbreak of COVID-19, our priority continues to be the well-being of our customers, and our sewing team. We would like to reassure customers that we are taking all necessary steps to follow the guidance given by the government.

Here are some answers to questions you may have.

i) Are you still open and making hats?

For the time being YES, we are. 2 of our part-time sewing staff have decided to step back and stay home. Our reduced team will work a shift pattern – each working alone in the studio and then cleaning down at the end of the day. In accordance with the guidelines, if any begin to feel unwell they will drop out of the rota.

ii) I need some advice, how can I contact you?

Emails will continue to be answered remotely and a prompt response should be received. If you call, you can leave a message on our answerphone – these will be checked periodically, however for now the best way to contact us quickly is via email – nicky@suburbanturban.com 

iii) Will my order be delayed?

There quite possibly will be a short delay but we are not experiencing our usual order volumes, so we will group orders to work on specific days and then dispatch. As long as Royal Mail continues working, once shipped our orders should arrive in the usual time frame. If you urgently require your order email us to tell us your requirements and we’ll prioritise and mail out first class to you.

iv) Is there any benefit in having my order tracked and signed for?

Royal Mail have already told us NO parcels will be signed for, your postman will ask to sign it for you, rather than hand over the machine for your signature in the usual manner. Right now it is easier for us to dispatch more quickly, if you DO NOT select this service.

Finally, we are aware that the above may change as advice by the government and World Health Organisation also changes. As we continue to navigate these challenging and uncertain times, we will endeavour to keep you updated, as we react to any new directives.
